Data Protection: a matter of digital security

EIF Dinner Debate

Several initiatives in the area of data protection are currently being discussed in the European Parliament.

These include the current debate on Europe’s new data protection strategy, the new legislation related to the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), as well as the European Commission’s latest proposal for a Directive on attacks against information systems.

This timely EIF dinner debate aims at addressing the issue of data protection from the “digital security” angle, highlighting the need for a common approach and an international dimension to adequately respond to the legitimate concerns of citizens, businesses and administrations.
