Artificial Intelligence and Ethics
Lunch debate
Artificial intelligence is already a ubiquitous part of our society, undergoing a continuous development. Due to its large impact, it is paramount to address concerns related to key ethical considerations. At this lunch debate we will examine how we can ensure AI is being developed globally to respect human rights and freedoms, leveraging the work of the EU institutions in cooperation with the private sector and academia.
The objective is to answer important questions such as what role does Europe play in the international dialogue? Do we have the right ethical and legal frameworks in place? What is the role of existing technologies as well as R&D? Are the right investments in place so as to ensure AI remains human centric? What more can we do to ensure bias and discrimination is carefully scrutinised and removed? What mechanisms, such as voluntary agreements, and codes of conduct are being considered?
