Dr Burton Lee on IT & Innovation in Europe


Within the 5th European Innovation Summit, this joint EIF-K4I dinner event "IT as a tool for driving Innovation" aimed at giving some answers to the 'Wake Up Europe' call for action: what are the main problems for the future of innovation in Europe? What immediate actions EU legislators should be looking at? Which instruments are most effective in creating the necessary eco-system for fostering innovation? IT is already a major enabler of innovation, and will continue to play a prominent role in bringing new solutions across industry sectors. From fostering entrepreneurship and sustain R&D investments, to framing the conditions for IT innovative business to be globally competitive: is Europe approaching the IT innovation potential the right way?

Dr. Burton Lee, PhD MBA - Lecturer, European Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Stanford School of Engineering, presented interesting insights on European IT sector and gave reasons why it is lagging behind.
