Wegener is the leading regional publisher in the Netherlands, with 7 dailies (80 editions, circulation 800.000) and > 200 free weeklies. With more then 900 journalists Wegener has the largest newsorganisation of the country.
Wegener is part of Mecom Plc, that also owns the Media Group Limburg in the southern part of the Netherlands and mediahouses in Denmark, Norway and Poland.
Responsible for the transformation of the newsrooms and content development, member of the Mecom Innovation Team.

Board member World Portraits, a foundations that encourages the use of portraits from people in the third world and enables a process that these people get paid for their portrait rights according to western standards.
1992 – 2006 Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau, the national newsagency of the Netherlands. Chief-editor from 1996. Managed the transition of the agency into a fully digitalized multi-media powerhouse. Introduced a new organisation of the newsroom
that was copied througout Europe.
1980 – 1992 NOS, the national public broadcasting company. Part of the radio news desk, sub-editor.
Married, 58, lives in Amsterdam. Three children, two grandchildren.
