Gianpiero Lotito is Founder, with Mariuccia Teroni, and CEO and CTO of FacilityLive, the most funded Italian high tech startup with global ambitions that develops a platform for information management driven by a next generation search engine with patents granted in 44 countries worldwide (including Europe, USA, Japan, Korea, Russia, Israel South Africa and Australia). 

FacilityLive is considered to be one of the European search platforms of the future. In fact its disruptive technology, that finds exactly what you are asking for, allows people and organisations have a compelling user experience in information search. Gartner, the world's leading information technology research and advisory company, included it in four Global Software Vendor lists: Enterprise Search, Knowledge Management, Point Based Solutions and Cool Vendor 2014 for CRM.

FacilityLive is the first non-UK company admitted to the London Stock Exchange’s ELITE Programme in London (read the FacilityLive profile on ELITE website), is business member of the European Internet Forum (EIF) and is founding member of the European Tech Alliance, a resource for European governements and istitutions to help the industry scale up and create jobs in Europe. 

FacilityLive was the only startup invited to the European Business Summit 2015, and was invited again to speak at its 2016 edition where Gianpiero Lotito was "one of the top European executives" that were interviewed in a special POLITICO Playbook Live from the European Business Summit (click here to watch the video). 

FacilityLive was one of the European's successful startups invited to join Startup Europe comes to Silicon Valley 2016: a European Commission lead initiative bringing together EU policy makers (commissioners, prime ministers), and the best of EU Scaleups and Corporates to meet Silicon Valley stakeholders. 

Gianpiero is a technologist, with an important musical career in the ‘80s, who with Mariuccia Teroni has been working for almost thirty years on innovative projects in the publishing world and on technologies applied to content. 

He was Adjunct Professor of Multimedia Publishing at the University of Milan and wrote books and articles on technology for major Italian editors like Bruno Mondadori, Sperling and Gruppo Espresso.

From 2014 Gianpiero has been Ambassador of e-Skills for Jobs: a project under the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs of the European Commission.

In 2015 he received the Gold Medal of the city of Pavia for his commitment and contribution to technology innovation. 

In 2016 he was the Innovative Entrepreneur chosen by the Italian Minister of Economic Development to represent Italy at the European Council for Competitiveness organized by the Dutch Presidency of the European Commission in Amsterdam to discuss the main challenges and opportunities arising from digitisation of industry within Europe.

He is a regular speaker at international events such as the European Business Summit, Rimini Meeting, Digital Venice, Pisa Internet Festival, the Single Market Forum organized by the European Commission, and at the European Parliament, European Internet Forum, and TEDx.
