Cristina is the Chairperson of the Working Group on Data Protection, Trust and Security of ETNO, the European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association, since 2002. She coordinates and represents the ETNO Working Group positions. Over the past years, the Working Group has been actively involved in the debates regarding data protection, privacy and security. Cristina has over 20 years of experience in the electronic communications sector. She joined the Telefónica Group in 1996 and served in various legal, regulatory and public affairs positions. She has been actively involved in the preparation of the liberalization of the telecommunications sector in Europe as well as in all the subsequent reviews. Currently she is Senior Adviser Data and Competition.
Cristina holds a master degree in International and European Law from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She previously graduated in Law at the University of Balearic Islands (Spain). Apart from her native Spanish, Cristina also speaks English, German, French and Italian.
