The 11th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held last December in México. The meeting marked the first gathering of the global multistakeholder IGF community since the renewal of the IGF’s mandate for 10 years.
The number of MEPs and European Commission officials taking part in the IGF was remarkable and underlines the significance of Internet Governance in Europe.
On 25 January, Pilar del Castillo MEP, EIF Chair and Head of the European Parliament Delegation to IGF, hosted a breakfast debate to reflect on the IGF programme and process, share impressions and identify topics of importance for the European agenda.
EIF used this opportunity to ask the panel speakers how effective the IGF is in protecting and advancing European values and interests.
