Cristina Mussinelli is the Secretary General of the LIA Foundation, a no profit organization providing visual impaired people with accessible versions of digital books. Furthermore Lia Foundation promotes the accessibility of digital books and reading through activities of education, information, sensitization and research, acting, at national and international level, as a catalyst creating awareness of the relevance of accessibility in the publishing market, involving not only publishers but all the actors in the digital book value chain.
She is member of the Digital Publishing Business Group of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C - https://www.w3.org), the international community developing the Web standards that, after the combination with IDPF, now also develops and maintains the EPUB® standard, one of the most widely used worldwide for digital publications.
She is also member of the Board of the European Digital Reading Lab, www.edrlab.org, whose main objective is contribute at providing a technical foundation for the European digital publishing ecosystem.
Since 1988 she has been responsible for the technological innovation and digital publishing areas within AIE (Italian Publishers Association), www.aie.it, where she manages European and international projects and the digital publishing professional training course program.
