Agata Gerba is a team leader at the Copyright Unit, Communications Networks, Content & Technology Directorate General of the European Commission. The Copyright Unit is responsible for the development and enforcement of the EU “acquis” in the area of copyright and related rights as well as for international negotiations in bodies such as the World Intellectual Property Organisation. The team led by Agata Gerba works on the issues related to cross-border availability of creative content including the proposed Regulation on cross-border portability of online content services. Before joining the Copyright Unit, Agata had been a member of a European Commission unit responsible for free movement of services and freedom of establishment issues, notably the Services Directive. Agata is admitted as an advocate to the Warsaw Bar (Poland) and prior to joining the European Commission had been a senior associate at the international law firm of Lovells and had specialised in mergers & acquisitions and labour law.
