Abdellatif Benjelloun Touimi is currently a Standards Manager at Huawei Technologies in the Corporate Strategy and Planning Department, based in Basingstoke in the UK, where he is responsible for Multimedia and Cloud Computing standards, specifically DMTF, ETSI TC Cloud, ISO/MPEG, ITU-T SG 16, and other.
He received an engineering diploma in Electrical Engineering from Mohammadia Engineering School - Mohammed V University, Rabat, Morocco, in 1996, a Ph.D. in Signal Processing from Télécom ParisTech, Paris, France, in 2001, and an MBA from The University of Chicago - Booth School of Business, USA, in 2011.
In his previous career, he was with France Telecom R&D, France, then Orange Labs London, UK, where he worked on research areas related to multimedia compression, security, and communication and also mobile cloud computing. He was also responsible for Open Innovation within the UK research ecosystem and was active in standardization since 2001.
During his career, Dr. Benjelloun also participated in different collaborative research projects at the national and European levels. He led a French project on digital rights management for mobiles, he was a work package leader and a board member in the EU FP6 ENTHRONE project dealing with QoS for multimedia content delivery over heterogeneous networks, and he was Vice-Chair of the Flexible Networks research program within the UK Mobile VCE consortium.
Dr Benjelloun is a member of IEEE and IET in the UK.
