Dr. Thomas Endres, born on 19 January 1963 in Stockheim /Lower Franconia, has been

Senior Vice President Corporate Information Management and Chief Information Officer

(CIO) at Lufthansa since 1 October 2002. In that position, he is responsible for IT Strategy

and Corporate Services at Lufthansa and the Group airlines.

On leaving school and completing military service, Dr. Thomas Endres studied materials

science and ceramic engineering at Erlangen-Nuremberg University and Alfred University,

New York State, from 1983 to 1989, graduating with an engineering degree.

In 1993, he took a PhD in laser and surface technology. From 1989 to 1993, Dr. Endres

was a research assistant at Erlangen-Nuremberg University and the Bavarian Laser

Centre. On completion of a trainee program at Audi AG in Ingolstadt in 1994, he was

charged with responsibility for the Audi change program in Hungary and Germany. In

1997, he moved to Eurofighter in Munich as Manager Human Resources and Program

Process Development.
