He joined Deutsche Telekom in 1998. He started his operative career in shareholding and partnership department with M&A- and IPO-projects before he became head of the CEO Corporate Office in 2004 where he stayed until 2010.
From 2007 on he committed to set up and head Deutsche Telekom´s Service Academy, the unit in charge of turning our middle and senior managers into visionary leaders of the 21st century.
In 2010, Markus took the challenge to establish the International Public Unit of T-Systems, the IT House of Deutsche Telekom aimed at the large enterprises. His mission: export outside Germany the expertise that has made T-Systems the number one IT Service Provider in the German public sector.
Markus is a lawyer by education, the right background thus to address the data privacy issues surrounding cloud computing in the public sector.
