On the 4th of March the EIF will host a dinner debate on the “Telecoms Single Market”. This dinner will be a very timely occasion to debate this proposal, currently being scrutinized by the European Parliament and Member States.
Published in September 2013, the Commission’s draft Regulation aims to creating a single EU market in telecoms and enabling Europe to regain its position as a “global digital leader”. The aim is to enable EU businesses and consumers to benefit from modern telecoms networks and services.
While the Commission’s ambition to boost the competitiveness of Europe’s ICT sector is welcome there have been different reactions to different aspects of this proposal.
This debate will bring policy-makers, regulators and industry experts together to discuss their views and provide insights.
